Myrtle Beach Wedding Trends
Posted on November 2, 2026
Weddings in Myrtle Beach look a little different from a few years ago. Guest lists are getting shorter, the celebrations are stretching across the weekend, and more couples are happy to skip a peak Saturday. These are the changes our wedding team sees most, and how couples are making them work here.

Weekday Dates
Our wedding packages run from $140 to $215 per person, depending on the tier you choose, and pricing is the same year round. A weekday date can bring the cost per guest down and open up more venues. Spring and fall are still the favorite seasons for beach ceremonies.

Smaller Weddings and Elopements

More couples are keeping it to their closest people, or eloping. The Plaza holds up to 100 guests and the Dunes ballroom, 16 floors up at Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort, holds 200, so a shorter guest list still gets the ocean view.

The Wedding Weekend

A wedding is often a few days of plans now, rather than one evening. Couples are adding a welcome party, a rehearsal dinner on Horizon Lawn and a breakfast together the next morning. With the rooms, restaurants and event spaces all at one resort, nobody has to drive between them.
Food Stations and Late-Night Bites

Stations like a Baja street taco bar, a pasta station or a slider bar get guests up and mingling. Then, around the time the dancing really starts, late-night pizza, sliders and soft pretzels keep everyone going.
Pre-Wedding Trips
Bachelor and bachelorette parties have turned into weekends away. In Myrtle Beach, that usually means golf for the Myrtle Beach bachelor party and a group morning at Spa33 for the bachelorette weekend.
Outdoor Receptions

Couples want receptions where guests can wander outside with a drink. Currents Lawn has lawn games, and Seaside Vista opens onto a balcony over the ocean.
