Unmatched vacations with unforgettable moments are a big part of why Kingston Resorts is a must-go destination for families. After all, we have classic activities for the whole family, including waterparks for kids, half a mile of beach that’s loved by all generations, flavor-packed menus for every appetite, and a convenient location that’s just a few miles away from the best attractions of Myrtle Beach. While the ways you can spend a day at our oceanfront are endless, here are five of our favorite family things to do at Kingston Resorts.

Family walking down beach

Splash and Play at Currents Waterparks

The best way to stay cool is a day at the pool. The all-new Currents Seaside Entertainment features not one, but two waterparks — one for big kids and another with our younger guests in mind. The big kid waterpark features water slides that twist and turn, offering plenty of splashes for older kids. Next to it, the giant tipping bucket provides huge spills and thrills for little kids. Our young guests also love the gentle water slides and shallower pools. Access to both waterparks is exclusively for registered guests of Kingston Resorts.

Currents

It’s not just the kids who enjoy a day at the waterparks. Cabanas and reclining lounge chairs mean parents can relax in the sun while also keeping a watchful eye as the kids make a splash. Reserve your waterpark cabana here to enjoy an elevated poolside experience. We also have servers around the pool, allowing you to order delicious food and refreshing beverages without taking away any pool time.

For more poolside fun, check out daily activities on Current’s pool deck. These include giant games like a life-sized version of Human Hungry Hungry Hippo and the classic Connect 4, as well as Giant Bowling with 10 inflatable pins and a giant inflatable bowling ball. Big family bragging rights are on the line! Stay up to date with the latest poolside activities.

Stay With the Family at Embassy Suites Myrtle Beach

From fully-renovated hotel rooms to oceanfront condos, there are accommodations for every type of stay at Kingston Resorts. If you’re on a family vacation, we highly recommend a stay at Embassy Suites Myrtle Beach. This newly renovated hotel features 255 two-room suites, giving the family plenty of room to feel comfortable. It’s also right next to the Currents Seaside Entertainment and offers convenient access to the beach. Pool day or beach day? That’s up to you to decide — both are right there. While we know family is important, so is breakfast. Luckily, complimentary breakfast is included at the Embassy. Book your stay, and you’ll soon be on the way to a classic Myrtle Beach day!

Dine at Our Family-Friendly Restaurants

While there’s an exception to most rules, pretty much every family agrees that pizza night rocks. A classic family meal is made even better at Kingston Resorts with our brick oven pizzas available at Coastal Grill & Bar, conveniently located in Embassy Suites and near Currents Seaside Entertainment. Feel like having a pizza party in your hotel room? While we do offer classics — such as buffalo chicken, margarita, and florentine — our “build-your-own” approach allows you to select your sauce, veggies, meat, and cheese to make a pizza pie to satisfy your family’s cravings.  Select family-favorite pizzas are also available on our in-room dining menu daily.

For an authentic taste of the Carolinas, we recommend a family dinner at Black Drum Brewing. The menu is Carolina-born and brewed, featuring house-smoked meat (including smokehouse ribs, brisket, pulled pork, and Carolina gold chicken), fresh seafood, small plates perfect for sharing, and a kids’ menu. The food of this authentic Carolina culinary experience is mouth wateringly delicious — especially when paired with waterfront ocean views. It’s a one-of-a-kind family meal in a sophisticated setting.

Black Drum

After dinner, stick around for classic yard games on the adjacent lawn and see who is the family champ at cornhole. Keep an ear out for live music and entertainment from our favorite local musicians on the terrace of Black Drum Brewing every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 6pm to 9pm.

Play By the Ocean On a Family Beach Day

With more than a half mile of beachfront at Kingston Resorts, we wouldn’t blame you for making every day a beach day. It’s super easy to access the beach from our hotels and condo buildings, conveniently located steps away from the ocean. How you spend your day filled with sand and sun is up to you. Bike rentals are available for a nice leisurely ride on the sand or for getting around the resort grounds. If you are planning a beach day, be sure to check out our list of beach bag essentials.

Father and son throwing football on beach

For even more entertainment by the ocean, Wet Whistle features live and local music on Friday and Saturday on the pool deck from 12pm to 4pm all summer. Retreat for a brief refreshment break at a breezy bar that’s practically on the beach.

Take a Day Trip to Nearby Myrtle Beach Attractions

Just like we won’t blame you for making every day a beach at Kingston Resorts, we also wouldn’t be surprised if you want to stick around the resort for your entire vacation.
